Ali’s first degree with Exeter University was in English with Drama and Education (BAEd Hons). She went on to earn a Master’s degree with Distinction in Creative Writing. She has previously published a novel for young adults and an A-level study guide on Ecocritical Theory; details of these and examples of Ali’s recent writing for her PhD are available on her website, gothicity.uk. Ali has written online and print A-level English resources for the education resources provider, York Notes, and has worked with a brain-injured client to assist him in writing his memoir.
Having recently completed her Doctorate in Creative Writing, Ali is now establishing herself as a freelance writer. She is currently working on a playwriting project supporting women in the Hull area in articulating their personal stories. She also offers editing and proofreading services.
