Global STEM Award E-Updates
New Partnership with the Children's University
We are delighted to announce that the TruSpeed Team we sponsored from JSS international school have made it through to the F1 in Schools FINAL in Abu Dhabi!

The UK STEM team are excited to announce our partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Sally took a trip to Flamborough Head to meet Anthony, the Manager of the Living Seas Centre. Following this we have developed three Global STEM Award worksheets in partnership with them.

Air Powered Rescue Line Throwers
UK STEM are supporting and talking part in the STEM in the Mountains Pyrenees expedition in May 2019. In addition to developing ideas for STEM projects as a we travel; we’re taking air powered rockets from Winterton Juniors and South Hunsley Primary to test on location. The rockets have been designed and made by pupils, tested and evaluated in the playing fields and the top performing ones will be used to shoot rescue lines over crevasses and across open water.
Agreement to Develop Closer Ties with the Chinese STEM Outreach Company Study Fun
Following the signing by both parties of a Memorandum of Understanding in January 2019 UK STEM and Study Fun met at the Study Fun offices in Beijing earlier this month. It was clear there was common understanding of STEM education and a desire by both parties to move towards development of mutually beneficial projects. Study Fun have strong links with the internet TV network CNTV and are developing franchise operations across China. We are excited to announce that the Global STEM Award has partnered up with Children's University so receiving a Bronze Award means also receiving credits towards your Learning Passport!
Many congratulations to Rebekah and Harry, students from South Lee School in Suffolk on achieving their Bronze Global STEM Awards recently. Their projects included bridge construction and researched the famous Tsing Ma bridge in Hong Kong, China, they then went on to design their own bridge and also researched careers in structural engineering.
